Family Faith formation is for children K-12th grade. We meet one Wednesday a month and while the children are in class, parents have a class with Father. The following weeks parents are responsible for their child's catechesis.
Research has found the parents are the most influential factor in faith formation. We are here to walk beside you and equip you with the tools you need. We provide The Word of Life curriculum for any families needing a curriculum to follow. Because parents are the primary educators, they are free to choose a different curriculum to use if they wish. Family Faith Formation classes are available from Kindergarten to 12th grade so it is truly formation for the whole family.
“The role of parents in education is of such importance that it is almost impossible to provide an adequate substitute.” The right and duty of parents to educate their children are primordial and inalienable. (CCC, #2221)
Contact Mindy Konkol with questions and to register for classes or stop in the parish office for a registration form. Registration forms can also be downloaded from the website as well.
All children of our parish, whether homeschool or public school, are required to attend Family Faith Formation classes. Catholic school students are required to attend the First Confession and First Communion retreats. An informational meeting will be held in October for all students and parents who will be making their First Confession and Holy Communion where expectations will be discussed.
Confirmation students and their parents will be required to have a 1 on 1 meeting with the pastor which will be scheduled at a later date. Further requirements for Confirmation are noted in the Confirmation requirements document on the left of the page.
If you were baptized outside of the Diocese of La Crosse, you will need to get a copy of your baptism certificate to the office or the DRE before you can receive any sacraments. Failure to meet the requirements may mean a delay in making the sacraments. There is a small sacrament fee to be paid the year you make your sacraments.
In the event of bad weather, the parish will monitor the weather situation and make a determination if Family Faith Formation will be held or canceled. Just because schools cancel in the area, doesn't mean Family Faith will be automatically canceled. Please watch your e-mails and Facebook for updates. We will get an update out no later than 3pm.
